WITH YOUR HELP WE DID IT:
YOU DONATED 3500 PIECES OF UNDERWEAR!
AND BECAUSE WE DON'T WANT TO STOP THERE,
WE ARE ROUNDING THAT NUMBER UP TO 5000!

SHARING IS CARING

Shopping for something nice for yourself while helping people in need at the same time is possible, thanks to the partnership between SKINY and CARITAS Austria. To mark the occasion of the CARITAS Austria‘s 100th anniversary, SKINY matched all number of items purchased on skiny.com for two weeks from May 28th to June 13th and donated that amount to the twelve mother-child homes around Austria. This means: if you bought 3 items for example, these 3 purchased items were sent to you and 3 additional items were sent to one of the twelve houses. The math is therefore simple: the more you bought, the more we donated!

WITH MY DONATION, I MADE SOMETHING SO ESSENTIAL, LIKE FRESH UNDERWEAR, A MATTER OF FACT AGAIN FOR MANY PEOPLE.

We operate 42 homeless facilities throughout Austria with 2,144 places for people in emergency situations. The visitors receive a warm meal, a place to sleep, clean clothes and an opportunity to shower. In addition, social workers help homeless people find their way back into society.

WHY DONATE?

Homelessness and poverty have many faces. It is no longer just the classic stereotypes, i.e. homeless, older men with tattered clothes, but also young people and many women who are affected by homelessness. People in need -of everything. Being homeless means much more than „just“ not having a roof over your head. Being wet, cold and hungry are not the only things that get under the skin of people living on the streets, it‘s above all the rejection and lack of understanding of their fellow human beings. Homelessness sucks energy and piles on stress. Homelessness causes illnesses and, above all, loneliness.

WHERE DOES THE DONATION GO?

In emergency situations, women with children are particularly in need of quick and unbureaucratic help. Throughout Austria, there are 12 Caritas mother-child houses, which offer 206 mothers and 235 children a roof over their heads, and where mothers in need receive help in various ways. This includes support after acute crises, advice on financial, social, health and legal matters, help in finding work or childcare support, support programs for children, learning aids and assisting when dealing with authorities.
