SKINY & PINK RIBBON

TOGETHER AGAINST BREAST CANCER

5,500 breast cancer cases each year in Austria. The most common type of cancer amongst women worldwide. And the small, pink ribbon that sets a big statement in the fight against breast cancer: for prevention and awareness, for solidarity with women battling breast cancer and for hope. SKINY supports the Pink Ribbon Initiative of the Austrian Cancer Aid and is proud to be part of this joint movement to raise awareness of breast cancer prevention and early detection, as well as to drive research and thus save lives.

SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

Thanks to the great demand for our 'Micro Essentials' series in basic and fashion colours during the campaign period, we were again able to support the Pink Ribbon campaign with a generous financial donation. A total of 5,000 euros was handed over to the Austrian Cancer Aid.

FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN IN FAVOUR OF PINK RIBBON

On the occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, SKINY supports the Pink Ribbon campaign of the Austrian Cancer Aid with a fundraising campaign on the popular ‘Micro Essentials’ range.

For every Micro Essentials item sold during the campaign period from 1 to 15 October 2023, SKINY will donate 1 euro to the Pink Ribbon campaign of the Austrian Cancer Aid*.

*The donation applies to all SKINY Micro Essentials items sold in our official SKINY online shop as well as in all HUBER and SKINY shops during the campaign period from 1 to 15 October 2023.

MICRO ESSENTIALS FOR PROSTHESIS WEARERS

The 'soft bra', the 'camisole' and the 'crop top' of the Micro Essentials series are ideally suited for breast prosthesis wearers thanks to their innovative cut, ultra-soft microfibre fabric and interlock processing.

They have removable pads that can be easily replaced with a breast prosthesis. Due to the seamless and soft cut, the underbust area is very snug and still provides good support without exerting pressure on sensitive tissue, such as scar tissue.

3 STEPS TO THE PROSTHETIC BRA

The opening for the removable pad of the soft bra, camisole and the crop top can be easily enlarged with a cut with scissors to insert the breast prosthesis. Due to the interlock processing of the fabric, the extension does not open any further.

WHAT IS PINK RIBBON?

The ‘Pink Ribbon’ is the symbol for a worldwide initiative for solidarity with breast cancer patients that was founded in 1992. In Austria it was successfully realized by the Austrian Cancer Aid and other well-known partners since 2002. Learn more on the Pink Ribbon website.

SKINY AND PINK RIBBON

‘From the situation of having to deal with our ‘second skin’ in the form of daywear every day, we are aware that many women affected by breast cancer find it difficult to feel comfortable and feminine with their changed bodies. With our products, we want to help them feel comfortable again as soon as they try them on for the first time.’

Heike Köhler, HUBER & SKINY Head of Product
